THE NATURAL WORLD IS OVERRATED

I’m going to try to wrap up the MA :vc }}

I’ll probably write a few more drabbles so a conclusion can be made. }}

I’ll see if I can end it today in a solid fashion, but if I can’t I’ll just extend it to tomorrow and end it there :> }}

Orden had never seen a robot before, so his first instinct was to ask what the thing was. He didn't want to come off as rude, but his curiosity simply got the better of him. "If you don't mind me asking, what exactly, are you?"

thesoullessautomaton:

The machine regarded the man before him. He had not seen this human around the island before. Was this a new survivor?

He crossed his arms and looked up, ” I AM A BIPEDAL AUTOMATON, HUMAN. “

He pointed at the man, ” I HAVE NOT SEEN YOU BEFORE. ARE YOU A NEW RESIDENT TO THIS ISLAND?”

kingorden:

Orden smiled brightly in the response and gave a hearty ‘thank you’ grabbing his bag full of all the materials he’s collected and swung it upon his shoulder. As he made his way down to the area of the rocklands first. He might go into the caves later if he needed any more major materials.

Orden looked back at the strange machine. He situated his thoughts and decided it would be polite to ask him if he needed to join him.

"You can come along if you wish. And I’d be glad to help you with any chores you need done in return for showing me the way."

The automaton crossed his arms and tapped his foot in thought at the human’s offer.

While he did not like working with fleshlings, they did lessen the work load whenever he could get them to work for him. And he could always leave the human whenever he wished.

“ HMMM…FINE.” He replied after a moment’s deliberation. He would see if he could convince the human to mine some rocks for him.

justwannawatchtheworldburn:

She raised her eyebrow.

"But you are a monster." She sighed and rolled her eyes. "Fine. What would you LIKE to be called?" She shook her head slightly. "Being a monster isn’t a bad thing…"

She shrugged it off. Whatever.

"A vampire is a type of monster." She smiled slightly, tilting her head. Just. Just letting that hang there for a moment. "… they can’t go in sun, they are usually stronger and faster than humans, and they have sharp teeth to sink into humans flesh so they can drink their blood! They’re also said to be like unable to cross rivers, enter peoples home or place of residence without permission, allergic to garlic, and crosses I think. I think they can also turn into bats and wolves? Maybe. Depends I think. I’ve only met one vampire. She was a bit different than the stories."

" I AM AN AUTOMATON, FLESHLING" He responded making sure not to hiss this time at the girl. He was determined to not make himself look like a fool in front of this fleshling in spite of his curse.

His self control was immediately tried as she once again mentioned monsters. He grit his teeth for a moment, willing himself to not respond to the human’s bait.

His anger was replaced by apprehensiveness as she mentioned drinking human’s blood. He could stand the other things, but the idea of taking a human and drinking it’s fluids sounded sickening to him. He didn’t want to have something as dirty as human fluid inside of him. He shuddered at the thought.

" HUMAN BLOOD?" He began nervously, " DOES IT STRICTLY HAVE TO BE THAT? SURELY THERE MUST BE A SUBSTITUTE…"

Charlie awoke early that morning to get the jump on the day. The sun had just slowly started to peak over the horizon; the perfect time to go fishing. She liked fishing better than trapping for some reason, something about ending the life of a fish was easier than a bird or rabbit. Though she had caught, killed, and skinned rabbits—even as a child she’d rung the neck of a few chickens for her mother—but that didn’t mean she enjoyed it.

She was by a pond putting another fish in her pail when she spotted the strange looking…person? Creature, maybe? It gave her a scare whatever it was, all covered up in a cloak and hood like it was. It wasn’t even hot out, and Charlie herself even had her skirt pinned up just above her knees—though that was more to keep it from getting wet or dirty.

It seemed to be walking toward her and she quickly rose from her seat by the pond. It didn’t look human, so she reached down to grab the pickaxe by her feet, though kept it at rest by her side so as not to threaten it. Maxwell never willingly allowed his creations to harm her, but there had been a few scrapes over the years, and she never went anywhere without a weapon of some sort…just in case.

"That’s close enough…" Charlie finally spoke when it walked up to her. Now that she could see it better, it was certainly not human. It reminded her of one of Maxwell’s machine-looking monsters. She wasn’t even sure it could understand her, but she was hopeful. "What do you want?"

The automaton regarded the strange human before him. He had drawn close, to see if he recognized her but found that he had never seen her before. She seemed to be healthier than other survivors as well.

He looked her up and down, considering his options “ I WAS LOOKING FOR INFORMATION, BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU CAN HELP ME, HUMAN.”

He had been hoping to encounter a survivor he had met before. Even if he hated them, they would know what had happened to him wasn’t how he usually was. This human would probably not understand his plight, seeing as he had just met it.

He turned away with the intention of finding another camp.

askthenorthernchimera:

North turned her furry head, quietly watching the robot as it looked over at her recent kill, growing confused when he noticed how indecisive the usually cold and calculating automaton was. The cubs had noticed too, as they had stopped trying to get more to eat and instead edged closer to the robot.

Ally, the smaller of the two, stepped almost silently over to WX-78, licking blood off of her face with her long purple tongue in attempt to at least pretty herself up. Meanwhile her brother practically waddled, the fluff around his neck soaked with blood.

The mother chimera watched her cubs, making sure that the robot didn’t try to hurt them, otherwise, she was perfectly willing to share some of her kill. She’d rarely eat an entire animal at once and was always one to share.

The automaton turned around as he heard the sound of paws padding through the grass. He took a step back as he saw that the animals had approached him.
They were filthy, covered with the blood of their kill. He frowned, with a mixture of disgust and confusing attraction to the red fluid.

He forced his attention away from the blood stained cubs underfoot and looked at the adult. Was there a reason it was allowing it’s cubs to draw near? What was it thinking?

He looked at her, waiting to see its reaction to him.

justwannawatchtheworldburn:

She tilted her head slightly, examining the teeth.

"… hmmmm…. well, with the sun sensitivity and the teeth thing… prolly a vampire I guess?" She nodded slowly. Yeah. That seemed about right. "Yeah. You’re prolly a vampire. Huh. Does that make you a hybrid? Half metal monster, half vampire."

She didn’t say monster like it was a bad thing. She spoke it casually, matter of factly. After all, he was a monster. What else would he be? But it wasn’t a bad thing. Monsters were great.

" HMM, WHAT’S-" he began, wondering what a vampire was before he glared angrily at the monster comment. It was aggravating.

" STOP SAYING I AM A MONSTER!", he hissed at her. As in he literally punctuated the end of his sentence with an angry hiss through his teeth.

He slapped a hand over his mouth in shock. He had never hissed at anyone before. It was unbecoming of him.

He shook his head, ” RRGH, JUST TELL ME, WHAT IS A VAMPIRE, FLESHLING?”
